About Mind Your Why

This project began with a simple question that has stayed with me for years:

Once you’ve found your purpose, how do you keep it front and center in everyday life?

There are countless books, podcasts, and seminars dedicated to helping people discover their purpose. They encourage us to identify our passions, define our goals, and dream bigger dreams.

But what happens after that?

How do you remember your “why” on an ordinary Tuesday morning?

How do you stay true to it when life gets busy, distractions multiply, and motivation begins to fade?

Those are the questions that inspired Mind Your Why.

Why This Project Exists

The more I studied extraordinary people—from entrepreneurs and athletes to scientists, artists, explorers, and leaders—the more I noticed something surprising.

The people who accomplish remarkable things don’t seem to rely on motivation alone.

They build lives that continually reconnect them with what matters most.

Some use morning rituals. Others rely on disciplined routines, personal reflection, prayer, exercise, journaling, trusted mentors, visual reminders, or carefully designed environments. Their methods are different, but the goal is the same: to keep their purpose alive even when life becomes difficult.

That’s what I call Why Maintenance.

Because discovering your purpose is only the beginning.

The real challenge is remembering it.

Our Mission

The mission of Mind Your Why is to explore how extraordinary people stay connected to the deeper reason behind what they do—and to uncover practical ideas that the rest of us can use in our own lives.

This isn’t about putting successful people on a pedestal.

It’s about learning from their habits, systems, setbacks, and daily practices.

  • What appears to be this person’s “why”?
  • What helps them stay connected to it over time?
  • How do they recover from setbacks?
  • What rituals, systems, and habits reinforce their purpose?
  • What can we learn from their example?

Over time, these individual stories become something much bigger.

They become evidence.

By studying many different lives, we begin to see patterns that no single biography can reveal.

How We Conduct Our Research

Each profile is built from publicly available sources, including biographies, interviews, books, podcasts, speeches, documentaries, letters, journals, and other reliable historical records.

Rather than simply telling someone’s life story, we’re looking for recurring themes:

  • Daily rituals
  • Personal systems
  • Identity and mindset
  • Purpose-driven habits
  • Reflection practices
  • Environmental cues and “Why Anchors”
  • Ways people recover after losing focus
  • Lessons that can be applied in everyday life

As this research grows, so will the patterns and insights.

My hope is to eventually interview many of the living people featured here, asking a question that surprisingly few interviewers explore:

How do you keep your “why” alive?

Where This Journey Is Going

This website is the first phase of a much larger project.

As more profiles are added, I’ll continue identifying common themes and organizing them into a practical framework for living with greater intention, including daily practices that help us remember what matters most and stay aligned with our purpose over the course of a lifetime.

My hope is that this project becomes more than a collection of inspiring stories.

I hope it becomes a practical guide for anyone who wants to build a life of intention.

Meet the Founder

My interest in personal development began as a teenager in the late 1980s when I happened to catch one of Tony Robbins’ late-night infomercials on television. Like millions of others, I was intrigued by the idea that people could intentionally change the direction of their lives.

Several years later, I purchased one of his programs, and what began as curiosity gradually became a lifelong interest in personal growth, human potential, psychology, and the habits that help people thrive.

Over the years, I noticed something interesting.

There are countless resources about discovering your purpose.

Very few explore what it actually takes to remember that purpose every day.

That realization eventually became Mind Your Why.

Today, I’m on a journey to study the lives of extraordinary people—not just to understand what they accomplished, but to discover how they stayed connected to the deeper reason behind their work through success, failure, setbacks, distractions, and change.

I don’t claim to have all the answers.

I’m simply asking a question that I believe deserves more attention, and I’m inviting you to explore it with me.

Join the Journey

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, educator, artist, student, parent, athlete, leader, or simply someone trying to live with greater intention, I’m glad you’re here.

I hope these stories encourage you to pause from time to time and ask yourself an important question:

Am I still living in alignment with what matters most?

Because extraordinary lives aren’t built by discovering purpose once.

They’re built by remembering it.

Day after day.

One intentional choice at a time.

Purpose isn’t found once.
It’s remembered daily.
